Customize settings in TE Viewer and TE Reserve

This article gives an overview of all the customizations available in TE Viewer and TE Reserve.

Layout

Page

General Page Layout

Date view: shows the dates next to the days in the headers.

Weekday view: shows one column per weekday, using the date range at the top to determine the week.

Weekly view: pulls all reservations into one column, with the time on the sidebar and the days presented within each reservation.

Monthly view: pulls all reservations into one column, with the time on the sidebar and the date (day only) presented within each reservation.

Yearly view: pulls all reservations into one column, with the time on the sidebar. You will need to click on the reservation to see details on the date.

Yearly & week view: pulls all reservations into one column, with the time on the sidebar and the weekday displayed on the reservation. You will need to click on the reservation to see details on the date.

Yearly & month view: pulls all reservations into one column, with the time on the sidebar and the month date (day only) displayed on the reservation. You will need to click on the reservation to see details on the date.

Lined: adds lines to the graphical view.

Show clock: shows the time at the bottom left-hand corner of the table.

One schedule for every searched item: splits the results by searched objects.

Row header: determines what is in the left y-axis.

Column header: determines what is in the top y-axis.

Fit width to screen: controls display width.

Horizontal scroll: allows for horizontal scrolling of the schedule.

Row height: controls the size of horizontal rows

Column width: controls the size of vertical columns

Rearrange reservations: changes the order of the reservations on the schedule by the object selected.

Max number of columns: max number of columns used in text view.

Show graphical schedule: provides the option for graphical schedule display.

Show header: displays header.

Show Footer: displays footer.

Show Headline: displays headline above schedule.

Headline: allows you to type the headline you would like displayed above the schedule.

Time

Weekdays range: controls days/day range to display.

Expand to full weeks: shows the full week even when only part of the week is selected.

Time frame: allows you to select the time frame for each day.

Expand calendar time frame to show all reservations: shows reservations outside the selected timeframe if any.

Only show reservations within the begin time and end time: will only show reservations that begin and end within the time frame.

Only show reservations that begin within the beginning and end times: As described.

Relative Start and Relative End: allows you to control page relative timings. Displayed at the top of the schedule, will only show now – 20 minutes etc.

Time Format

Settings to change how the time and dates are displayed.

Reservations

Color

Color by: Allows you to color the schedule by an object of your choice. Once one object is selected, you will get a field where you can enter another object. This sets a backup color by option in case the first object is not visible in the schedule.

Color on Objects: This allows you to color each object that is available in the schedule.

Note: You can only use Color by or Color on objects. They do not work in conjunction with one another.

Content

Visible Information: Allows you to select which objects will be visible in Text View of your schedule. This allows the admin to set the page with a large amount of data by default and the ability for the user to deselect any data points that are not required on their schedule view.

Show additional reservations: On top of normal reservations, it is possible to show additional types of reservations, e.g. show reservations personally made by the user.

Reservation information

Include searched objects: Display the objects you searched for in the reservation information even if it is not part of the content.

Show padding: shows padding on either side of the reservation if applicable.

Show time: displays the start and end time in the schedule on the reservation's top and bottom edges.

Style

Fit line height to font size: compacts the line to the height of the font.

Text Layout: changes how the text is displayed within the reservation. Allows you to place each object on a separate row to make it easier to read.

Text alignment: allows you to control the alignment of text in the reservation.

Font size: the ability to control the font size of reservation text.

Admin: Reserve (TE Reserve only)

Please note, that the settings in covered in this section are only visible when customising TE Reserve pages.

Reserve

Template group reserve: selects the template to use for the reserve page

Types: select which types can be searched for and the order in which they are listed in the drop-down.

Log in

Require login (reserve): checked by default. Forces log in. Unchecked allows anyone that is not logged in to make reservations by using the entrances user.

Show Search: Shows the search functionality.

Multidays: allows you to book across day limits. Adds an end date control to the booking window.

Use object relations: When creating a reservation the search objects use relation to other objects in the reservation in the search result.

Show My Reservations: shows the My Reservations section at the bottom of the page.

Show Reservations to Confirm: in text view, this setting will display the reservations needing confirmation at the top of the list.

My reservations also show reservations I have changed: as described. Will be displayed in the My Reservations section at the bottom of the screen.

Preselect (Week/Day): controls the display to show either a single day or a full week.

Rules

New Reservation

Reserve: text on the submit button when making a reservation.

Request: text on the submit button when making a reservation request.

Thank you for your reservation!: heading text displayed on the confirmation window.

Thank you, your request has been received: heading text is displayed on the confirmation window.

Mail Request

Subject: When using “Send confirmation” on a request reservation this will be the prefilled subject.

Message: When using “Send confirmation” on a request reservation this will be the pre-filled message.

Thank you for your reservation!

Type Field Field EN

This is the information shown after making a reservation for both a normal reservation and a request reservation.

Admin: Layout - Admin

Replace this page with settings from: allows you to clone settings from pages you have previously created.

Auto refresh page: auto page fresh settings.

Automatic page scroll: automatically scrolls page if results are longer than screen size.

Reservation per page: controls how many reservations you would like to show per page.

Number of columns: shows text schedule in a number of parallel columns.

Headline/Header and footer

Headline/Page header (HTML code can be added here): To add header images and text.

Page footer (HTML code can be added here): provides the ability to add footer images and text.

Footer: the ability to add Objects to the footer.

Customize PDF: add URL for a custom image to be placed on top of PDF pages.

Admin: Reservations - Admin

Template group viewing: limits the view to a particular reservation mode. Only shows the reservations booked with that reservation mode.

Members reservation: Setting to advise how you would like to handle memberships.

Show availability reservations in background: shows availability if a selected object has an availability tied to it.

Reservation Status: this allows you to select which reservations will be shown in the schedule based on status.

Reservation Updates

Show cancelled reservations: sets how long cancelled reservations should be seen in the schedule.

Show recent changes: this allows you to set how long a change to a reservation is considered recent. Recent changes are highlighted by a red dot in the schedule.

Reservation Content

Compact text: Compacts the text in the reservation where possible. Group 1, Group 2, Group 3 turns into Group 1-3.

Highlight abstract objects: this allows you to select abstract objects to highlight in the schedule. This will grey out the reservations with abstract objects and will also add an asterisk to the object on the reservation that is abstract to help with the identification of the object.

Hide all other columns in the schedule if column 1 contains data: This will remove all other columns from view and only display the first column of the reservation data if data exists in that column (text view only).

Admin: Search (Object searcher)

Show virtual objects & Can be selected on reservation pages only, and allows you to make reservations that are incomplete: allows for virtual objects to be visible on TE Reserve pages.

Shows active objects: shows objects with the active status in the object manager.

Show inactive objects: shows objects with inactive status in the object manager.

Always show search filter: will set search filters as visible by default on the search page.

Show Search Reservation ID: adds reservation ID to the search functionality in TE Viewer.

Searchable Types: this allows you to add Types to the search functionality of the page.

Once the type is selected, it will show below this setting. Save the page to allow you to configure what fields on that type should be searchable, displayed in results and displayed on hover. You will also be able to filter category options to only show the values you want to be visible in the search and you can lock options to limit what can be displayed in results.

Show Schedule for user objects: automatically displays the schedule for the logged in users user objects without having to search for it. .

Only show user objects: displays only user objects as search results.

Only show virtual objects: shows only virtual objects in the schedule.

Hide abstract objects: hides abstract objects from the schedule.

Only show related objects: display only objects related to already selected objects.

Only show objects related to the user objects:  display objects that is related to the logged in user’s “user objects”. Each user in TimeEdit can have a list of object that is connected to the user.

Always show all available resources: always displays all available resources on reservation pages instead of displaying the last used objects. May affect performance if many available resources.

Related objects first: search results first shows objects related to users search criteria.

Preselected object Ext.id: when creating a reservation this will pre fill the reservation template with one object with exact Ext.id.

Search on related objects of type:  show a new search button on each row in the object result. When the button is pressed it show all the related object of the selected type.

Admin: Content (Columns in schedule)

Columns in schedule: allows you to select which columns/data are displayed in the graphical and text display of the schedule.

Columns in iCal: allows you to select which data is displayed in the iCal feed.

Columns in My Reservations: this allows you to select which columns/data are displayed in the My Reservation list at the bottom of the page.

Please note, once you have set up one of the configurations for columns, you can copy the setting to the other column configs on the page.

Admin: Show & hide

Show Create public link: shows button to create a public link of the page view.

Show Hide reservations: adds a button to the bottom of the screen which will allow you to click on reservations to hide them from view.

Show Select and edit multiple reservations: allows for multiple reservation selection in group view.

Show Created By: shows the creator of the reservation under the Show reservation information when the reservation is clicked.

Objects in reservation are clickable: allows you to click on objects in the reservation to see more information about that object, e.g., Fields of that object.

Show Excepted Members: when you have a membership exception, you can make the excepted members visible when you click on the reservation.

Show Object’s Members: you can use this in two ways. If you created an object list and you want to show members of the chosen objects in a column or if you have a clickable object that has members, and you want to show these when more information is clicked on the reservation.

Show Sum: sums up all integer fields.

Cancel Reservation

Allow cancel reservation on user objects related to user objects. Allows cancellation of the reservation when at least one object of the selected type is on the reservation. The below are On/Off settings.

  1. User object of type: When one user object of the selected type is on the reservation, the user will be allowed to cancel the reservation.
  2. Only related objects to the user objects: Only when objects related to the user object is on the reservation, the user will be allowed to cancel the reservation.
  3. Only related objects to the above objects: Only when related objects to the above objects are on the reservation will the user be able to cancel the reservation.

Edit

Copy Reservations: this will allow users to copy existing reservations to make new ones.

Modify fields, time and cancel reservations: Will allow users to edit reservations and cancel the reservation.

Change time on reservations: this will allow users to change the time on reservations.

Change objects on reservations: this will allow users to change the objects on reservations.

Add type: This setting works with the above setting to advise the system which types the user is allowed to change the object on.

Allow double booking when change object: this will allow double booking of all of the objects on the reservation during a change in the reservation.

Admin: Date limits

Begin date: this allows you to set a specific start date for the calendar.

End date: Allows you to set a specific end date for the calendar.

Relative start: Allows you to set a relative week start time (number of weeks).

Relative end: Allows you to set a relative week end time (number of weeks).

Only today: By choosing this checkbox, you will restrict the calendar to only showing the current day.

Fixed interval: Locks the date interval in the search bar so that users are unable to change it.

Use custom week names: If custom week names in configured in TE Core, they will be used n this page as well instead of calendar week numbers.

Long period name: If periods are used to select dates, this will use the long period name instead of the default short name.

Change period: Enable a new dropdown where the user can jump directly to one of the periods that the page admin has selected.

Admin: Special

Show: dictates what will be displayed on the screen. The default is reservations.

Language: select the language used on the page.

Time format: allows for the selection of date format.

Require login: if the page is located on a public entrance, this indicates that the user must authenticate to access this specific page. This means that public pages and locked pages can be mixed on a public entrance. Will work together with SSO.

Reload typenames: will force a refresh of TE Viewer and is used to collect recent changes made to Objects and Fields and Types in TE Core or the Java client.

Mail

Find all the email addresses on objects in the reservation from of the selected types and fields.

Links

Please note, that the settings covered in this section should only be used in special edge cases; please consult with TimeEdit before use.

Graphical: Names graphical page link. Only use in special edge cases.

Language 1: Add an alternate name to the language button. Only use in special edge cases.

Language 2: Add an alternate name to the language button. Only use in special edge cases.

Link to reserve page: This option allows you to click somewhere on the white space in the calendar on a TE Viewer page and it takes you to this TE Reserve page. Only use in special edge cases.

Use short links: Uncheck to make the URL even longer. Only use in edge cases where the short links do not work.

Colour

Please note, that this section covers the old way to color objects before there was an option to color objects via TE Core and should no longer be used except for special edge cases; please consult with TimeEdit before use.

Cancel Reservation Automatic

Use the setting from the selected page: this allows you to copy settings from other pages.

Cancel reservation – 0 + 0 minutes

User ID: user ID of the user marked as cancelling the reservation.

Run automatic cancel reservation now: runs above settings immediately.
