New Release of TE Exam

This release features the improvements of Allocation and import of special needs

Imported special needs into assigned column, with added api.

Now, it is possible to import special needs so that they appear in the assigned special needs column. As long as the category matches what is listed in the TE Exam, they will be matched to the correct column. If an imported special need is not found in the TE Exam list, this will be indicated with red text upon import.

It is still possible to assign special needs like before by specifying this in the assigned special needs column.

To use this feature you need to have special needs configured in the mapped importfile.

We have also updated the API with this enhancement, enabling the specification of specific needs through integration.

Allocation improvements

To ensure the efficiency of the seat allocation process for exams, we've implemented the following improvements:

We have introduced a dynamic seating allocation. Instead of receiving a predetermined seating range, the system calculates and provides the exact number of seats required for the students who have actually registered for the exam when allocation is done. This means that there’s no predetermined seating range based on planned students when scheduling an exam.

Here's how it works:

  • Seating range based on Actual Registered Students: The system considers the real number of students who have registered for the exam. For instance, if the initial plan was for 20 students but only 22 register, the system will generate a seating arrangement for 22 students.
  • Scattered placement and Flexible Seating: For scenarios where students are allocated at a later moment in time, the system may employ flexible seating, placing students in various locations within the examination room. This ensures efficient space utilization and accommodates additional students.
  • Fixed seating range: If you still prefer to maintain a fixed seating arrangement, TE Exam provides the option to set a fixed seating range, similar to the traditional approach used for planned students. This feature gives you control over the seating organization based on your preferences. Once allocation has started a fixed seating range can not be adjusted

In summary, the dynamic seating range system optimizes the allocation process by tailoring the number of seats to the actual number of registered students. This adaptability ensures efficient use of space, accommodating varying student numbers, and offering flexibility in seating arrangements according to your preferences.
